Webdesign by Matt Rabe
I first got involved in programming on a home-built pre-8086 monochrome display PC using the BASIC programming language, BATCH file scripting, and a little guy inside my computer that would say whatever I typed in as long as I phrased it properly for his (yes it was a male voice) phonetic disposition.
and 15 years later I can say...
I make websites.
I made this website.
I could make your website.

- Outdoor Sportz
Created in 2003
This is an example of an e-commerce site. I designed and implemented the entire layout to the specifications of the owner, including javascript, HTML, and some but not all of the graphical (JPG/GIF) design. It runs off of a ShopSite shopping cart backend, which is controlled by a database of products at the Outdoor Sportz office. Pages are generated via ShopSite page templates which I designed.
- Matt Rabe
Created in 2004
This is the site you are currently viewing! I designed, created, and implemented every aspect of this page from scratch. It utilizes a Macromedia Flash menu system (at top of page), created from digital pictures of my family room and garden. It utilizes a SQL database backend, via a VBScript ASP interface created by myself. Much of the content you see (show dates, lyrics, songs, background styles, etc.) is created on the fly using data from the SQL backend. The pictures section runs off a VBScript interface originally designed by my father Vern Rabe, and modified by myself for application to this site. The puzzles section utilizes a simple DHTML script to allow the drag and drop of images.
- All Round Magazine
This site was created by a designer other than myself, and I have been involved with site updates and changes since 2004. My involvement has included graphical design and redesign (JPG/GIF), repairing previous improper coding, and general site updates and improvements. This site exemplifies my abilities update and repair a pre-existing site to the specifications of any website owner.
- Neo Mod
Created in 1999
This is another example of an e-commerce site. This site was a very simple e-commerce site with only a few products available. The site utilizes javascript rollover effects (menu buttons on the left) for navigation. It also uses a VBScript ASP code to allow users to send an email message to the owners via the website. Neo Mod is no longer in business, but the site originally utilized a CCNow interface for accepting credit card orders.
- Calvesto Glass Art
Created in 2002(?), unfinished
This site was never completed or published as the parties involved have postponed the project. Though incomplete, this site allows a customer to create customized art glass perfume holders and oil lamps using predefined patterns, shapes, and addons. All of the customization functions as well as the shopping cart utilize VBScript ASP coding and a SQL database backend, created from scratch by myself. The Macromedia Flash menu (growing leaves and flowers on left and top) was created by Ahren Osterbrink.
